Delivery Manager

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Multi-Stream Product Delivery

• Own end-to-end delivery across multiple product streams, initiatives and releases simultaneously.
• Translate product priorities and roadmaps into actionable delivery plans, milestones and execution timelines.
• Manage dependencies across different product and engineering teams.
• Ensure delivery commitments are realistic, visible and continuously tracked.
• Maintain delivery cadence across discovery, development, QA, release and stabilization phases.

2. Product & Engineering Coordination

• Act as the primary delivery coordination point between Product Managers/Owners, Engineering, QA, Design, DevOps and Business stakeholders.
• Work closely with Product teams to understand priorities, scope and expected outcomes.
• Ensure engineering teams have sufficient clarity on requirements, priorities and dependencies before execution.
• Facilitate effective collaboration between cross-functional teams.
• Proactively resolve cross-team dependencies and impediments.

3. Planning & Execution

• Establish and manage sprint/release plans across multiple product streams.
• Track milestones, deliverables, dependencies and critical paths.
• Monitor progress against committed timelines and proactively identify slippage.
• Drive regular delivery reviews and ensure action items are closed.
• Maintain visibility of upcoming releases and capacity requirements.

4. Risk & Issue Management

• Identify delivery risks early and establish mitigation plans.
• Maintain appropriate RAID / risk and dependency tracking across product streams.
• Escalate critical issues with clear context, impact and recommended actions.
• Ensure blockers are actively driven to resolution rather than simply reported.
• Manage scope changes and assess their impact on timelines, capacity and releases.

5. Stakeholder Management

• Provide clear and concise delivery updates to leadership and relevant stakeholders.
• Establish transparency around progress, risks, dependencies, capacity and release readiness.
• Set and manage expectations around timelines and delivery commitments.
• Facilitate discussions when priorities, scope or timelines conflict.
• Build confidence with stakeholders through predictable and transparent execution.

6. Delivery Metrics & Governance

• Establish and monitor delivery KPIs across product streams.
• Track metrics such as:
• On-time delivery
• Sprint/release predictability
• Delivery throughput
• Blocker ageing
• Defect trends
• Release readiness
• Dependency closure
• Capacity utilization
• Use data to identify delivery bottlenecks and continuously improve team performance.
• Establish lightweight governance and reporting mechanisms for the Product Team.

7. Process & Continuous Improvement

• Identify inefficiencies in the existing product delivery lifecycle and drive improvements.
• Improve planning, estimation, prioritization and release management practices.
• Introduce appropriate Agile practices without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
• Encourage teams to continuously improve their ways of working.
• Help establish a scalable delivery framework as the product portfolio grows.

8. Release Management

• Coordinate product releases across engineering, QA, DevOps and business stakeholders.
• Ensure release criteria, testing, documentation and dependencies are completed before production deployment.
• Drive release readiness reviews and post-release follow-ups.
• Track production issues and ensure appropriate ownership and resolution.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–7 years of experience in Delivery Management, Project Management, Program Management or Product Delivery.
• Proven experience managing multiple projects/product streams simultaneously.
• Experience working with cross-functional product and engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodologies.
• Strong experience with sprint planning, release planning, dependency management and risk management.
• Experience working closely with Product Managers/Product Owners and Engineering teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and make execution trade-offs.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Comfortable working with delivery metrics and data-driven reporting.
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, ClickUp, Monday.com or similar.

Good to Have

• Experience working in a SaaS / technology product organization.
• Experience managing multiple products or product modules.
• Exposure to software architecture, APIs, cloud infrastructure and modern engineering practices.
• Experience working with distributed or geographically diverse teams.
• Experience in product roadmap and release planning.
• PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, PSM or similar certification.
• Basic understanding of CI/CD, DevOps and software development lifecycle.
